About
Established in 1987, Royal Collection Trust is a department of the Royal Household.
Royal Collection Trust has over 400 staff and it is responsible for the care of the Royal Collection, and manages the public opening of the official residences of Her Majesty The Queen and the official London residence of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
Our Translation Services
Amongst the various work Bubbles has undertaken for The Royal Collection was a 100-page souvenir guide for The Palace of Holyrood House. Aimed at international visitors, Bubbles was asked to translate and typeset the multilingual guide into a total of 7 European and non-European languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Japanese).
The Solution
The complex project required Bubbles to be involved from the very early production stage when the English contents were still being written, to ensure the processes ran smoothly. Bubbles was able to give valuable advice on technical formats, methods, linguistic requirements and project management procedures. The project managers, translators and editors at Bubbles worked tirelessly around the clock to quickly manage last minutes changes made to the English text by Royal Collection, which then had to be reflected in all 7 languages.
Added Value
Our dedication helped to ensure the final guide was delivered to The Royal Collection ready for printing within budget and to timescales, in a final format that the printers would not have any problems with handling foreign language fonts or software.
The Royal Collection were delighted with the end result and were kind enough to send a printed copy of the beautiful guide – with a compliment slip saying “Many thanks for all your hard work on this project. I hope you are as pleased with the end result as we are!”
